Amboseli National Park is famous for its large elephant herds and for the view of Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind them. It is a favourite with wildlife lovers, photographers and adventure travellers planning a Kenya safari.
Many visitors come for the elephants, some of them with impressive tusks, and stay for the photography. Wildlife viewing is best in the dry seasons, June to October and January to February. Amboseli also pairs well with the Maasai Mara, which gives you two very different scenery in one trip.
