Do I have to pay in full when I book?
No. A 20% deposit confirms your booking. You pay the other 80% on the day your safari begins.
What happens if I cancel?
The fee depends on timing. It is 25% if you cancel 91 days or more before travel, 50% from 90 to 31 days, and 100% at 30 days or less. See our Journey Policy.
When is my booking confirmed?
Your booking is confirmed once we receive your deposit.
How do I pay?
You pay online through Pesapal, a secure payment service.
What is included in the price?
Included: airport or hotel pickup, a private 4×4 with a pop-up roof, a professional driver-guide, all park and reserve entry fees, accommodation as specified, drinking water, all meals as specified, drop-off at your hotel or the airport, hot showers and toilets at all camps, and all fuel and road transport.
Not included: international flights, visa fees, soft and alcoholic drinks, personal items and souvenirs, tips (optional), and government taxes and VAT.
Can I book a private safari?
Yes. Several tours are private, such as the 4-Day Private Maasai Mara Safari. The Safaris page shows all group and private options.
How many people join a group safari?
Group safaris are shared trips in a private safari vehicle. Group size varies by tour, so check the tour page or ask us when you enquire.
Are children welcome?
It depends on the tour. Age limits are on each tour page. The 4-Day Private Maasai Mara Safari, for example, takes guests aged 5 to 75. Child prices are set when you enquire, because hotels charge different rates.
When is the best time to see the Great Migration?
The herds are usually in the Maasai Mara from about July to October. The timing follows the rains, so it can shift from year to year.
Do I need a visa?
Many visitors need a Kenya eTA (electronic travel authorisation) before they travel, and some are exempt. Check the official Kenya eTA site for your passport. Visa and eTA fees are not included in your safari price.
What should I pack?
Pack light clothes in neutral colours such as khaki, green and brown, plus a warm layer for early mornings. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable closed shoes, binoculars, a camera and any medicine you take. Soft bags fit the vehicle better than hard suitcases.
Where do you pick me up?
We pick you up from the airport or your hotel when you arrive. At the end, we drop you at your hotel or the airport.
